Professor emeritus Huw C. Davies has been elected Honorary Member (Fellow) of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics and awarded an honorary doctoral degree by Aberystwyth University.

Prof Huw Cathan Davies has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Aberystwyth University. The internationally-renowned atmos­pheric physicist worked as Professor for Atmospheric Climate at ETH from 1982 and retired from his position in 2009. external pageAberystwyth University in in Wales (UK) bestowed the award on him for his lifetime achievements in the field of atmosphere and climate sciences as well as his outstanding contribution to the academic com­munity. In January 2015 he was elected Fellow by the external pageInternational Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) for his enhancement of international cooperation in geosciences and attained eminence in the field of Earth sciences.
