Conservation and land use entail many conflicts that have to be negotiated. A video, based on the Conservation Management field course run by ETH Zurich, explores these issues in the Highlands of Scotland.

Conflicting interest concern not only the direct impacts of land use on biodiversity and economy, but also differing perceptions among people and stakeholders regarding goals and priorities. The following documentary shows the issues the Ecosystem Management group deals with – students and researchers.

The major programme Forest and Landscape Management runs field courses in four different places - as for example in Serbia and Scotland. The next course in the Highlands is scheduled for 2018.
