Joan-Bryce Burla awarded IGN research prize

A dissertation by Joan-Bryce Burla from the Ethology and Animal Welfare Unit, Institute of Agricultural Science, was selected from a shortlist of three works for the International Society of Livestock Husbandry (IGN) top award.

The agricultural scientist received 4,000 euros in prize money for her research. Submitted to ETH Zurich in 2015, Burla’s dissertation investigates the “Effects of feeding management and lying area on the behaviour of group-housed horses”.
