A new old face at D-USYS

After studying biology in London, Jake Alexander came to ETH around 15 years ago. After a stop at the University of Lausanne, to where he took his ERC grant, he is now back at D-USYS. Jake Alexander is Assistant Professor of Plant Ecology at the Institute of Integrative Biology. Welcome back to D-USYS, Jake!
Situated at the interface of ecology and evolution, the research of Jake Alexander addresses fundamental questions about how species’ interactions with other organisms and with their environment shape patterns of plant species' distribution, diversity and range dynamics.
Two of the most pressing challenges for environmental biologists are forecasting the spread of non-native plant invasions and predicting the response of native species to global climate change.
