Young Scientist Award goes to Sebastian Schemm

Sebastian Schemm, PostDoc in the group of Heini Wernli from the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science (IAC) and visiting professor at the University of Vienna, has received the Young Scientist Award 2019 from the European Meteorological Society (EMS).
Sebastian Schemm receives the award according to the selection committee for "his rigorous work that has fundamentally increased the understanding of the life cycle of extratropical cyclones". The award will be presented at the annual meeting of the European Meteorological Society (EMS) in Copenhagen on Monday 9 September 2019. Sebastian was nominated with the publication "When during Their Life Cycle Are Extratropical Cyclones Attended by Fronts?", which appeared in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.
