The board of the Association Waldlabor Zürich has elected Martin Brüllhardt as the first managing director of the Waldlabor Zürich from a large number of applicants. He will take up his position on 1 September 2020 and will work for the forest laboratory approximately three days a week.

Martin Brüllhardt is an environmental scientist with a master's degree in forest and landscape management. He has just completed his doctoral thesis at the ETH Zurich in the field of silviculture and brings with him several years of experience in the coordination, organisation and implementation of his own projects as well as a wide range of silvicultural courses for the successful design and organisation of this inspiring place of experience, learning and research. Thanks to his involvement in the core of the Forest Planning and Management Working Group of the Swiss Forestry Association and his membership in ProSilva, he has a large network of actors and stakeholders in the forest sector.

Martin Brüllhardt has been connected with the forest since his childhood. His grandparents' forest aroused his interest in this diverse habitat. His broad background and his multifaceted orientation can also be seen in his training as a field ornithologist and forest ant conservationist. Martin Brüllhardt has further training in environmental didactics, communication and public relations. The father of two children lives with his family in Zurich.
