Bin Bin Pearce has been appointed member of the Swiss Young Academy

BinBin Pearce, senior scientist and lecturer at the Transdisciplinarity Lab (TdLab) at the Department of Environmental Systems Science, was elected to the board of the newly founded Swiss Young Academy.

Members of the Advisory Council and Marc Creus, President of the Advisory Council, share their hopes and thoughts for the future of the Swiss Young Academy.

The Swiss Young Academy gives young researchers the opportunity to carry out inter- and transdisciplinary projects. With their dedication and contributions, members pursue the early identification of challenges facing society, provide solutions for these challenges, and foster a dialogue between science and society. The Young Academy was established in May 2020, as the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences had recognised both the need for a platform that gives voice to young researchers within its ranks and their desire for additional mentoring and support.

For Bin Bin Pearce, who is also on the Presidium of the Young Academy, this academy represents a kind of prototype for the development of academies in general:
