Environmental Sciences Mater's degree graduation ceremony 2020

D-USYS

A total of 105 graduate students of all specialisations celebrated their successful graduation at the Master's degree graduation ceremony of the Environmental Sciences study programme on 13 November 2020. Due to the circumstances, it was a somewhat special celebration: While only a few guests were allowed to be in the Audimax, most graduates watched the video recording of the ceremony with their friends and family at home.

The ETH-Medal was given to:

  • Julia Isler with the Master's thesis "Tree of heaven - a threat or an opportunity for Swiss forestry?", supervised by Prof. Harald Bugmann and Timothy Thrippleton from the Institue of Terrestrial Ecosystems (ITES) and
  • Laure Poncet with the Master's thesis «Impacts of Sea Surface Cooling on Tropical Cyclone Activity», supervised by Ulrike Lohmann, David Neubauer and Bernhard Enz from the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science (IAC).

As best-of-the-year graduate student Mauro Hermann was given the Willi Studer Prize from ETH Zurich.

For her excellent thesis "What are the drivers of trade-induced carbon burden shifting?" an award of the Environmental Sciences study programme was given to Levin Koller.

Congratulation to all graduates!
