Golden Owl for Achim Walter
For his excellent teaching, Achim Walter has been awarded the Golden Owl by ETH Zurich’s students association VSETH.
Achim Walter has been Professor of Crop Science at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences at ETH Zurich since 2010. A core topic of his research are image-based phenotyping methods to characterize shoots and roots in the laboratory and in the field. He teaches courses such as «Alternative Crops», «Plant Ecophysiology» and «Startup for Smart Sustainable Farming».
The Golden Owl honours lecturers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and motivates them to continue with their excellent teaching. The prize is awarded by the ETH Zurich Student Association (VSETH) on ETH Day, which this year took place on November 16.
