Research area
Hanna Joos investigates the formation of clouds and its impact on the atmospheric circulation, with a sepcial focus on extratropical weather systems. She utilizes different numerical weather prediction and climate models, and applies Lagrangian diagnostics to investigate in detail how diverse microphysical processes occurring during cloud formation affect the dynamics of the atmosphere.

Hanna Joos is also the coordinator for the Master programme "Atmospheric and Climate Science" at the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (D-EAPS) and responsible for the Major Atmosphere and Climate in the Master programme "Environmental Sciences" at the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS).
