Research area
My research centers on how mathematical and computational methods can be used to describe biological systems. Previously, I have constructed mathematical models of diseases, both in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and historical epidemics. The focus of my work at the D-USYS is modelling the population dynamics of microbes. This includes for example plasmid dynamics and antibiotic resistance, as well as the structure of the various microbiomes which greatly affect human health.
