Research area
Doctoral student of the Molecular Plant Breeding group since December 2022, supervised by Dr. Chloé Manzanares and Prof. Bruno Studer.
My research focuses on understanding the stigma-pollen recognition mechanism involved in grasses and preventing self-pollination. More specifically, I am involved in the confirmation of the causative genes in perennial ryegrasses, using techniques such as plant transformation, genome sequencing, and cross-compatibility prediction. By studying the genes involved, we aim to uncover the underlying molecular processes, which can improve agricultural breeding techniques.
