I joined the Climate Policy Group as a PhD candidate in 2023. My research focuses on the decarbonisation of energy systems. I look at both the supply side, where integrating higher shares of low-carbon supply in the power system is a challenge, and the demand side, studying the electrification of heat and mobility demands. As such, the topics of flexibility and sector coupling are at the core of my work.
I specifically focus on the design of policies necessary to reach net zero. I primarily apply quantitative models to do this, combining large-scale energy systems models and agent-based models. I also use life-cycle analysis (LCA) tools to study the environmental impacts and benefits of the decarbonisation of energy systems.
I endeavour to do transparent and reproducible research, which led me to publish Swiss-Calliope, a fully open-source and and open-access sector-coupled energy system model of Switzerland and its neighbours at high resolution.
Prior to joining the CP Group, I studied energy systems science at ETH and did my undergrad in maths and physics at the École Polytechnique in Paris and EPFL.
