Research area
My research focuses on assessing the impacts of drought on forest growth and competition that ultimately lead to the tree mortality events that have been observed in temperate forests in Europe over the last years.
In my research project I am examining the driving mechanisms of drought including climatic drivers and soil physical properties and investigating the role of soil water dynamics in drought-response in the climate-sensitive forest succession (“gap”) model ForClim.
