From fundamental processes to practical solutions: Research at the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS) addresses pressing environmental challenges through systems-based and collaborative approaches.
Research at D-USYS spans six institutes, a transdisciplinary laboratory, and various competence centres, platforms, and research stations. Together, they advance knowledge and solutions in five strategic areas: ecosystems and biodiversity, climate, agriculture and food systems, natural resources, and sustainable transformations.
Through collaborations across ETH Zurich and beyond, D-USYS helps address complex environmental challenges and drive sustainable change.
