Here you can find out how to register for the Master's programme in Environmental Sciences. The conditions for admission are specified in the study regulations.
External Students: Requirements and application
You may apply if you have basic knowledge in:
- Mathematics
- Natural Sciences
- Environmental systems
- Social Sciences and humanities as well as the chosen specialization
These must be equivalent in content, scope, quality and skill level to those taught at ETH Zurich. The exact requirements can be found in the Download appendix of the programme regulations (PDF, 158 KB).
Please use the ETH Zurich course catalogue to find out about the content and scope of the relevant courses and compare them with the courses you have attended. Assess for yourself whether you meet the requirement profile. The Admissions Committee will only make this assessment in the case of an application.

Consecutive students: Application for consecutive Master studies
Students who are currently enrolled in the Bachelor's programme in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering at ETH Zurich and who have achieved the required minimum number of credits in the corresponding categories in the Bachelor's programme can register electronically in myStudies for the consecutive Master's programme.
Entry into the Master's program after interruption
Students with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences from ETH Zurich who wish to enter the consecutive Master's programme after an interruption (exmatriculation) should contact Academic Services.
Prospective students
The online information for external Master's students takes place November 7th, 2024 between 1pm and 4pm CET.
