Starting with the basic principles of risk and moving on to uncertainties and perceived risk, we explored climate risks for Switzerland and globally, and discussed resilience and climate-compatible development in a module led with full devotion by David N. Bresch.

These points were complemented by specific case studies on the economics of climate adaptation and exercises on climate risk disclosure. The module featured Sebastian Glink’s illustrative presentation on simulating the impact of hazard events on assets and people using CLIMADA Technologies, an engaging session on environmental, social, and governance issues led by CAS alumnus Kumar Jegarasasingam, and an insightful presentation on carbon offsetting by Nicolas Gruber.

We experienced a diverse and enlightening programme, recognising that the topics covered are essential to assess the impact of ClimateChange under current and future scenarios, enabling our participants to methodologically evaluate climate adaptation options.
