Organisation
The Department of Environmental Systems Science is made up of six research institutes. In addition, the department is actively engaged in the Transdisciplinarity Lab (USYS TdLab) and a number of competence centres and technology platforms.
The Head of Department represents the department externally and is chair of the Department Conference (DC). It is the department’s most senior body and responsible for making decisions on various departmental matters. The DC consists of all professors assigned to the departments, delegates of the adjunct professors, delegates of the scientific, administrative and technical staff, and delegates of the students.
The Department is also composed of the Professor’s Conference, the department committee and the strategic planning committee. There are boards for the teaching, admissions and resources. All departmental boards are defined in the D-USYS D-USYS Bylaws (in German).
Bylaws can be found as well in the ETH Rules of Conduct (in German) and the external page Federal Act on the Federal Institutes of Technology.
