Research Institutes

Research in the Department of Environmental Systems Science is carried out by six institutes. The institutes are subdivisions of the department, which organisationally group together neighbouring professorships.

Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS)

The Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS) investigates sustainable plant and animal production systems as well as interactions between insects and crop plants.

Institute of Agricultural Sciences
Head of Institute: Nina Buchmann

Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science (IAC)

IAC

The Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science (IAC) focuses on atmospheric and climate processes and the way they interact with the hydrosphere, cryosphere and biosphere.
