Environmental Sciences Graduation Ceremony

87 graduates of different masters degree programmes of Environmental Sciences celebrated their graduation on 3rd of November.

As best-of-the-year master student Anika Oertel was given the Willi-Studer-Preis from ETH.   

The ETH-Medal was given to:

  • Vanessa Round with the master thesis «Hydrological and environmental signals in tree-ring δ18 at the Rietholzbach catchment» mentored by Prof. Jukka Jokela and
  • Annika Oertel with the master thesis «Surge dynamics and lake outburst of Kyagar Glacier, Karakoram» also mentored by Prof. Jukka Jokela.

For his excellent thesis an award of the Environmental Sciences study was given to Benedikt Knüsel. According to the explanatory statement, the thesis «Climate Change Might Ease the Transition Towards Renewable Swiss Electricity» contributed to a systematic understanding of environmentally relevant processes and combined this with target and action knowledge.
