Environmental Sciences Graduation Ceremony

74 graduates from different specialisations in the Environmental Sciences Master's degree programme celebrated their graduation on 9 November 2018. «Flow», the slogan of the celebration, marks a transition into a new phase of life.

The ETH-Medal was given to
- Livia Ramseier with the Master's thesis «Validation of an LCIA-method for biodiversity based on the indicator Z7 from the biodiversity monitoring Switzerland» mentored by Dr. Matthias Meier, FIBL, and
- Marc Melliger with the Master's thesis «Potential for the adoption of electric cars in Switzerland and Finland given different infrastructure development policies, secondary vehicle ownership models and refuelling behaviours» mentored by Dr. Oscar van Vliet, researcher in the Climate Policy group at the Institute of Environmental Decisions (IED).
As best in class, Master's student Daniela Seiler was given the Willi Studer Prize from ETH Zurich.
For his excellent thesis, «Monitoring and evaluation of a community based development plan on the island of Hiw, Vanuatu», Danny Nef was given award of the Environmental Sciences programme. Danny Nef was mentored by Prof. Dr. Jaboury Ghazoul, Professor of Ecosystem Management at the Institute of Terrestrial Ecosystems (ITES).
Following last year's motto «grow», this year's motto of the graduation ceremony was «flow». Congratulations to all graduates and all best wishes for a good flow in the future!
