Research area

I have a keen interest in the use of satellite imagery for agricultural applications. I did my PhD in the Crop Science group as part of the DeepField project, together with two PhDs from the Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing group. During my thesis, I worked on crop classification, the estimation of crop nitrogen status and the estimation of crop yield from satellite data with machine and deep learning. I am fascinated by the potential of satellite-based applications for agriculture. I want to explore this potential further in my Pioneer Fellowship and bring it from research into practice.
